Grab and Go Bag: Step 3

Keeping Warm and Keeping Clean

You will have many of these items already but whatever is missing write it down on your list of items to get.

1. Compete change of clothes

    • Undergarments
    • Long pants & long sleeve shirt
    • Socks
    • Pair of shoes

Place in a plastic bag. I vacuum seal even my clothes (except shoes) to save space.

Tip: Use a permanent marker and note the clothes size on the bag-  just in case you gain or lose some weight.

2. Warm Sweatshirt or Sweater

If you’ve vacuum sealed your clothes, keep outerwear separate so it’s easily accessible.

3. Water-Proof Poncho or Jacket

4. Blanket

5. BASIC PERSONAL HYGIENE (get trial sizes)

  • Tooth brush, paste, and floss
  • Comb or brush
  • Hand wipes /  baby wipes
  • Hand lotion

You can find “trial size” products at most drug stores to save cost.  In my bag  I also included: q-tips, a small mirror, plus shampoo and conditioner (even though I could go 3 days without washing my hair).

Amazon offers an emergency tent for under $10.00, but check out our local REI prices.

Shipping & handling prices vs gas prices = you do the math.
